Our newly elected governor will have veto power over redrawn Congressional and state legislative districts following the 2020 census!

This is extremely important. Our newly elected governor will have veto power over redrawn Congressional and state legislative districts following the 2020 census. Redrawing the lines will play a significant role in future elections. This powerful reconfiguration gives states the ability to favor incumbents or deliberately cut them out of their existing districts, allowing one party to control government.

With the long-time dominance of the Democrat party in Connecticut, Republicans have fallen victim to this practice. Vote Republican this November and you will have a chance to correct this devastating inequity.

(In 1812 Massachusetts Governor Elbridge Gerry signed a law redrawing district lines to benefit one party- and so “gerrymandering” was born.)
